- 200 gr of sweet potatoes
- One tablespoon of starch
- 50 gr of brown sugar
- 100 gr of grated coconut
- Salt to taste
1. Steam a piece of sweet potato that has been cleaned for about 25 minutes

Title : How klepon is made
General Statement :
Indonesia has a wide variety of traditional foods or cakes in each region which has been passed down from generation. For example, the klepon cake " Klepon " is one of the typical Indonesian cakes that are well known in various regions. Even some of the literature says that this type of traditional cake has arrived in other countries. Although popular throughout Southeast Asia, klepon probably originated from Java. Famous klepon cake products come from Pasuruan (East Java). Here how klepon is made.
Sequenced of explanation :
First the sweet potatoes that have been cleaned and cut are steamed for 25 minutes.
Then puree the sweet potatoes into a mixture that will be added starch and salt to taste. Stir the mixture until smooth and not sticky when formed.
Round shape of the dough which is then filled with chunks of brown sugar. After formed put the mixture in the water that has boiled. Wait until the dough floats that indicate it is cooked. Remove the drain so that it is not too ripe and becomes soft.
The last, steamed grated coconut 100 gr that has been given enough salt for about 10 minutes. The cooked batter is put into grated coconut. Klepon is ready to be served.
Differences between explanation text and procedure text :
Procedure text : Text that contains ways, goals to make or do things with the right step by step in sequence so as to produce a desired goal. Procedure text is usually found in writing that contains ways, tips or tutorials to take certain steps. In the procedure text there is an imperative word or word command to do what is discussed in the text so that reader does what is ordered in the contents of the text.
Explanation text : It is commonly used the passive voice in building the text. Explanation is such a scientific written material. It describes how certain phenomenon or event happen.
Similitary between explanation text and procedure text : Both contain a sequence of events or events if reversed will not be an accurate text.
